We watched our favorite sous chef put this together in a tiny hotel kitchen for some of our guests, and even with a surprise blackout (!) it came out great!
Now, I'm going to leave the chain in question nameless, but we've had some real fuse-blowing adventures at one of our regular spots. And I mean fuse-blowing literally. Our first visit was less than a year into the location opening and we were ready to put the new suites through their paces. As we were settling in, we scouted our little kitchenette, thoughtfully supplied with a full size refrigerator, a small pot coffee maker, and a microwave. As our carafe was still in a box... somewhere, and we'd had a hard drive, we set about using the hotel's coffee maker, and incidentally rewarm some road snacks in the microwave. There was an electrical snap, and off went the appliances. I'm not saying we've never stretched the capacity of a hospitality suite before; that's catering on a shoestring for you. This is the first time, though, that the hotel provided equipment, in the configuration provided by the hotel, did the trick for us. The electricians came
